We have completed the next steps in our artwork.
We are so proud of our effort!
We have been studying Dr Seuss for reading and writing. Last week and this week we focused on the Cat in the Hat.
We created our own Cat in the Hat craft and wrote descriptions to go with our craft.
Below is one our extraordinary pieces of descriptive writing:
The Cat in Hat
Just then… the door flew open with a CRASH, and a fluffy black and white tabby cat, that was very jumpy, bounded in. His long tail (which, by the way, was black and white) was swinging so violently that it almost hit me in the head. He was wearing white gloves and a hat. He was also wearing a weird bow-tie.
“Let’s have some fun!” he shouted happily.
Then as he ran past me, some of his fur rubbed against me. It was the softest thing I had ever felt. When he reached the end of the hall he said,
“Come on! What are you waiting for?”
His voice sounded like a boy’s voice. I was so surprised that I couldn’t move. Suddenly, I smelled a terrible odour. It was just then that I realised, that the Cat in the Hat smelled of dead fish. YUCK! The smell was so overwhelming I could almost taste it on my tongue.
